Knowing that filmmaking was my passion, I moved from my native Mexico to New Zealand to hone my craft in 2006. Sixteen years later, I am a DOP/Camera Operator with experience in many different genres and formats. I have been awarded “Best Cinematography” at the 48 Hours Film Festival NZ 2022 and my work has also been nominated in the Documentary category of the NZ Cinematographers Society in 2021 and 2023.
I have worked on some of NZ's biggest television productions, as well as documentaries, commercials, music videos and corporate content.
No matter the size of production, the most important thing to me is creating a visual interpretation that's right for the story. I love working with directors, clients, talent and crew to achieve the overall vision and making those beautiful human connections behind and in front of the camera along the way.
Travelling around the world and telling interesting stories through the lens is something I never take for granted.
TV Shows I have worked in as a Camera Operator include: Rachel Hunter’s Tour of Beauty, Popstars, Lego Masters NZ, My Kitchen Rules, Pacific Island Food Revolution, Masterchef, Al Brown’s Dishing Up Australia, Attitude TV documentaries and many others.
